Privacy Policy

Short version: everything you log — drinks,
times, your sleep schedule, your body settings — stays on your iPhone. There is
no account and no tracking. Cira talks to the network in exactly two situations,
both described below.
What stays on your device
Cira stores the following locally, using Apple's standard on-device storage.
None of it is uploaded:
- Every drink you log: name, caffeine amount, volume and the time you had it
- Your bedtime and wake time
- Your metabolism settings — speed, smoking, contraceptives, pregnancy, age,
your sleep threshold and any half-life you set by hand
- Your own drinks, if you create any
- Your morning ratings of how you slept
- Whether the cutoff reminder is switched on
A copy of the current numbers is shared with the Cira widgets and the Apple
Watch app through a private container on the same device. It does not leave the
device or your iCloud-connected devices.
Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no backup on our side to restore,
because there is no our side.
Purchases
Cira Premium is sold by Apple through the App Store. Cira never sees your
payment details, and Apple does not share them with us.
Subscription state is managed for us by RevenueCat, a
purchase-infrastructure provider. When you open the plans screen or restore a
purchase, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID that it creates
itself, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic device and OS information.
That is what tells the app whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat is not
given your name, your email address, or anything you have logged in Cira. Their

Barcode scanning
If you scan a drink's barcode, Cira sends that barcode number — and nothing
else — to Open Food Facts, a public, non-profit food database,
to look up the caffeine content. No identifier of you or your device is attached
to that request. If you never scan a barcode, this request never happens. Their

Camera
The camera is used for one thing: reading a barcode in the moment you point it
at one. Cira does not record video, does not save photos, and has no access to
your photo library.
Notifications
If you switch on the cutoff reminder, Cira schedules a local notification on
your device. It is calculated on the device from your own data. Nothing is sent
to a server, and we cannot see whether it arrived.
Health data
Cira does not read from or write to Apple Health. It has no HealthKit
permissions at all.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
Cira contains no advertising and no analytics SDK. Nothing you log is
measured, profiled or sold. No data is collected for tracking as defined by
Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and the app never shows the
tracking permission prompt.
Children
Cira is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal
information from anyone under 13.
Not medical advice
Cira estimates caffeine levels from published pharmacokinetics. It is not a
measurement of your blood and it is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor about
sleep problems.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this
page with a new date above.
